Cisco Unveils Easy Setup Consumer Routers
Cisco on Wednesday announced a new lineup of Linksys wireless routers for consumers. They have also launched the Valet and Valetplus: Wi-Fi routers for the home user that have an unprecedented ease in setup.
All of these routers feature Cisco CCNA Training Connect software, which delivers simple setup with advanced features targeted for the home network. The software auto-configures network settings like SSID and password, making it easy for home users to configure their wireless home network and easy to add devices like additional computers, media servers, and gaming console to the network.
The Linksys E1000 Wireless-N Router has a theoretical throughput of 300 Mbps. It has four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports and is ideal for general wireless Internet usage and home productivity. It’s got a MSRP of $79.99.

The Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless-N Router has four 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports. Its dual band handles 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz and is ideal for intense gaming. It’s MSRP is $119.99.
Linux is the underlying operating system of the Linksys E2100L Advanced Wireless-N Router. The Linux OS allows for flexibility to customize the network. This router features four 10/100 Ethernet ports and has a built-in UPnP AV media server to stream multimedia to gaming consoles or other supported devices. Plus, there’s a USB port to attach storage devices for file sharing. The MSRP is $119.99.
The simultaneous dual-band Linksys E3000 High-Performance Wireless-N Router is a higher-end router with an MSRP of $179.99. The dual-band technology gives smoother HD video streaming, wireless gaming, and file transfers. It’s for four 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports and is optimized for multimedia.
There’s also a new wireless adapter to optimize connectivity between these routers and a machine. The Linksys AE1000 High-Performance Cisco CCNA Certification Wireless-N USB Adapter provides wireless-N connectivity to Windows computers. It offers selectable dual-band and uses customizable security settings to thwart Internet threats and wireless freeloaders. It has an MSRP of $69.99.
